TeaTV on FireStick: Installation Methods

Tea TV is a third-party app and not part of the Amazon Store. It has to be sideloaded to your FireStick device. Unlike the regular Android mobiles or tablets, FireStick doesn’t let you download the APKs of the apps directly through popular browsers. Sideloading on FireStick requires special apps. Here are the two apps we will use in this guide:

1. Downloader
2. ES File Explorer

Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

I will get on with the installation method. But, before that, you must enable FireStick to accept the third-party apps by turning on the Apps from Unknown Sources. Here is what you need to do:

1. Open the Settings from the FireStick home-screen (menu bar on the top)

2. Click MyFireTV or Device

3. Open Developer Options

4. If Apps from Unknown Sources is disabled/off, turn it ON by clicking it

5. Click Turn On to ignore this warning message and to confirm your action.

Turning on Apps from Unknown Sources exposes your device to threats only when you try to side-load a bad APK. The APK source of Tea TV I am going to share with you is safe. I have personally installed the app from this source.

Install Tea TV on FireStick Using Downloader

Downloader is an app that facilitates sideloading on FireStick. I consider it one of the FireStick essentials and it is one of the first apps I install while setting up my device.

To download this app, go to your FireStick home-screen. From the home-screen select Search on the far left on the top. Now look up for the app and install it.

Once you have the app, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Run Downloader and click the URL field on the right side of its home-screen (the app opens with the left Home tab selected by default)

Step 2: Type in the following URL when the onscreen keyboard appears and click GO:

Step 3: Downloader app will connect to the server URL is pointing to and begin to download the TeaTV APK on FireStick

Step 4: When the APK download is done, the Downloader app initiates the installation. What you should now see is the following prompt asking you to confirm if you wish to install TeaTV on FireStick.

You can see the Next button on the bottom right. Navigate to this button using your FireStick remote

Step 5: The Next button changes to Install button. So, now click Install

Step 6: It will take a few moments to install TeaTV on FireStick. When it’s done, the following window is displayed with the App Installed confirmation

TeaTV is installed. If you want, you can click Open on the bottom right corner and run it. But, I suggest click Done so that you can go back to the Downloader app and delete the TeaTV APK.

Why delete APK? Because APK is of no use after the installation of the app. Clear up FireStick storage by deleting unnecessary files.

 Step 7: Click Delete

Step 8: Click Delete again

TeaTV on Fire TV Stick Using ES File Explorer

ES File Explorer is another app widely used as a side-loader for FireStick. Again, you can download this app from Amazon Store. Just look up for it in the Search option on the FireStick home-screen.

: ES File Explorer does not offer the sideloading feature for free anymore. You need to pay $9.99 per month. Use the Downloader app if it is available in your region. It is free.

After installing ES File Explorer, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Launch ES File Explorer. You will see a menu bar on the left with expandable options. Scroll down and click Tools. Clicking will expand it. Now, click the first option Download Manager

Step 2: Now navigate to the right side of the ES Explorer and on the bottom click +New

Step 3: The following dialogue box must show up with the two fields

• Path
• Name

Step 4: Enter the following in the above fields:

• Path: https://www.firesticktricks.com/tea
• Name: teatv

In fact, in the Name field, you may enter any name you like. It will be inconsequential. Click Download Now

Step 5: Wait for ES File Explorer to connect to the server and download the TeaTV APK on Fire TV Stick or Cube.

Step 6: When that’s done, click Open file when prompted

Step 7: Next, click Install

Step 8: Now you are guided to the installation prompt. Scroll down to the bottom right corner until Next button changes to Install. Click Install to proceed

Now, all you need to do is wait for FireStick to install TeaTV, which should not take more than a minute or two. You will see the following confirmation message when the app is installed

Step 9: Click Open and run the app. Click Done to return to ES File Explorer. You may run the app later from Your Apps & Channels (which I will tell you how in the next section)

How to Use TeaTV on Fire TV Stick

All your apps are kept in Your Apps & Channels. Here is how you can visit this section:

• Press and hold the Home button on your remote for a few seconds
• When you see the pop-up menu, click Apps
• This opens Your Apps & Channels

When you are here, scroll down, select the TeaTV app icon and click it to open the app. That’s how you access the apps from Your Apps & Channels.

You can access TeaTV more quickly if its icon was on the FireStick home-screen. To move the icon to the home screen, here is what you need to do:

• Go to Your Apps & Channels
• Highlight the TeaTV app
• Press and hold the Select button on your remote for a few seconds or press the menu button on your remote and click Move on the bottom right corner of the menu that appears on your TV
• Now move the TeaTV icon to one of the top two rows
• Drop the icon at the desired location by pressing the Select button the FireStick remote
• Go back to the FireStick home-screen and you will find the TeaTV icon under the Your Apps & Channels category

Let’s now run the TeaTV app on FireStick.

When you open the app for the first time, the following disclaimer is displayed. Click Accept to proceed.

You are now prompted to choose your preferred subtitle language. Click the language of your choice to continue. You may change it later in the app Settings.

If you wish to subscribe to TeaTV Subreddit click Visit else click Cancel
